Places of Interest

**Note that is is just a guideline of places, there are more, and more to each place then what we mentioned, so feel free to plot with that! Anything you make up that you'd like to be added to canon just let us know and we'll place it here!**

Coróinbáis
The 7.7 square foot mile island in the inner Hebrides has been used as drop off island for Muggles who aren't able to keep quiet any longer, which is just fine to the Magical locals who are to set in their way of life and folklore to mind other wise, is now the home to the Magical youth of the UK until Hogwart's can be rebuilt.

Sangster
The three+ story princess like castle set deeper into the center of the island, is larger than it seems, but still dramatically smaller than Hogwart's, with a secret past. Rumored to of once belonged to a werewolf or vampire depending on who you ask. This place has shown it's creepy side more than once but after the winter renovation everything seems to be running smooth.

Hufflepuff dorms---Located near the entrance to the third level root cellar on the ground floor. Accessed through the second to the left ridiculous oversized barrels set in a row. The walls are low giving a similar feel to what they had back at Hogwarts, but they aren't curved, in fact you can't even see the walls as they're draped in earth colors{mainly mustard} in a tent like manner. With rounded lanterns hanging, eastern cloths over oversized sofa's and chairs and strong but delicate dark wood furniture, furs here and there. The common rooms may look like a Russian nomads tent, but it has one of the homiest feels of all the common rooms. Bedrooms- Five beds to a rooms following the circle lines of the walls are extra comfy with down covers and massive amounts of pillows, while each student is given two star carved dresser drawers to store anything from cloths, to books, to the naughty magazine or a bed for a familiar!

Gryffindor dorms---Located in the tallest and only notable tower. Accessed by a twisted, small circular stair case that seemingly just wraps back into itself, opens to the attic when on the twenty-third step one stomps twice. Similar to its old rooms, Gryffindor has the feel of a worn in half century old hunting club. Rich burgundy velvets, brown tweeds, the rich chestnut furniture, all over sized in this split level room. Tapestries and stag head's line the wall while a rich odor of sandalwood hangs in the air. Bedrooms- Five beds sit against the circular wall, like their Hufflepuff brethren. Embossed red velvet comforters pop against the dark oak four banister beds, with an overly large wardrobe for all of the students to share and six-drawered side tables next to each of their beds.

Ravenclaw dorms---Located in the attic. Accessed by lift shaft in a small enclave near the library where one has to speak the pass word for it to appear. What walls can be seen between high bookshelves are covered in a silk brocade, beautifully matching Loius XVI furniture in shades, tints and with hints of blue, that dots the room centered by a large limestone fireplace, while long windows let in light that bounces off the muted colours. Bedrooms- Five beds to a room all against one long wall, each with a mythological scene embroidered on a dark blue comforter, sit against light blue-gray walls, each person with their own armoire and sitting bench.

Slytherin dorms---Located in the the windy caverns under the castle. Accessed by a fire spell at the hall at the end of the wine cellar.. All one must do is follow the green light lanterns, not the regularly lite torches you'll find the common room walled in an Guangxi water dragon skin. Similar to that of a Basilk's in shiny but with a more delicate texture. A huge black marble fire constantly roars with a warm fire a green glow as it bounces against the very sleek straight lines of the black leather seating, expensive antique rugs, crystal and marble furniture and stalagmite like ceiling.

Great Hall---Located to the slight left of the entrance, up a decent sized flowing staircase and has two large intricately carved doors that open up to an open room much like a sanctuary to an old cathedral. Instead of four table, there are two long tables, but one would find that most people still sit with their housemates. The teacher's table is still in the front and the candles still float, but instead of an enchanted ceiling of the sky, it's a moving fresco.

Owlery---Behind the school in another open grassy space in the corner sits a large enclosed cage like gazebo that actually houses all flying foul of the school.

Infirmary---Staffed by Madam Pomfrey and Madam Spinnet. The infirmary takes up a good large portion of the first floor east wing. This time around there's one large room where both nurses take patience and allow the less injured or illed to sit for a few hours. The more serious cases are taken down the hall at the back of that room where they are given either an individual rooms or doubled rooms.

Library---Staffed by Madame Pince. Located on the second floor in the middle of the school, it is a bit more cramped than the old library. Its forbidden books are actually in a separate room, not just a caged off area. There is no single study area, instead tables, chairs, and stools are stuffed between bookshelves, at the ends, and in any open spaces.

Kitchen---Located in the basement, accessed behind a large painting of a fat, laughing Bacchus. Its a similar set up to Hogwarts with a long walk in cooler, shelves with dishes, forever washing sinks. This kitchen isn't staffed entirely by house elves, but also some witches and wizards as well.

Quidditch Field---Located behind the school, to the left of north side of the building, on top of a decently large hill. Still regulation size the seating is much less than it was at Hogwarts, but with seats that are no longer rickety and and banners that aren't yet faded.

Prefect Bath---Located at the top of the smallest peak on the school the baths are accessible through a statue of a seaman holding a mermaid and opens when you twist the ring on his finger. The baths have heated cream marble floors, thin carved pillars and a sectioned off changing room before you dip into the wonderfully warm water as a stain glass of shooting stars at night and flying cranes in the day. In luck! They were able to salvage the bubble machine from Hogwarts!

Potions---Taught by Professor Slughorn, these classes can take place in three different class rooms in the back north of the school, down in the old "store rooms". Like old Potion classrooms, long wooden tables and long wooden benches and cauldrons are the basic seating.

Charms---Taught by Professor Flitwick, located in a circular tower cap above the school entrance, topped in a circular stadium like seating. Flitwick teaches from below in his giant stand.

DADA---Taught by Professor Weasley, its located in two classrooms on one hall on the second floor in the north back corner. The hall has nothing in it except for two wardrobes of equipment. The first and smallest classroom has tables where two each can sit and the second is set up like classroom one, but larger for the younger students.

Herbology---Taught by Professor Sprout, a small classroom to the left of the school, first floor, center. Holds a few desks, but not many and has a large wooden door at the back of the classroom that opens up to a small cleared area where there are three small greenhouses. There is also a root cellar for more advanced Herbology students in the basement.

Transfiguration---Taught by Headmistress McGonagall, taught in a large classroom on the third floor facing the school's entrance. The classroom each has large individual tables for one students and for the younger years two.

Astronomy---Taught by Professor Sinistra, taught a distance from the school, its a good quarter mile into the woods to the right of the school space. it's taught in a tower that has nothing but stairs leading to its flat top.

CoMC---Taught by Hagrid, is taught away from the school for the safety of the students, only a little distance over the dirt road in front of the school near a lightly wooded area sits the school's barn and outdoor pens. When Hagrid feels like a lecture, there are several fallen trees you can sit on, but other than there is no formal classroom.

Divinations---Taught by Professor Trelawny. Trying to keep her more grounded, this class is on the third floor with McG's classroom, but in the back corner inside a small circular tower. Still set up like some mystic tea room, Trelawny teaches her style.

History of Magic---Taught by ?. It's taught in a stadium style lecture fall, first floor, near the center. It bumps right against the Great Hall, so if you're eating lunch you might hear some student dozing off and getting fussed at.

Muggle Studies---Taught by ?. Taught on the second floor near the library. It's set up just like a Muggle classroom to give the students the feeling of what it would be like to be a Muggle, cheesie "You can do it!" poster included.

Arithmancy---Taught by Professor Vector. Set up in a small tower on the highest floor possible near the center of the school. Half the walls are lined with chalk boards and the seating is in a crest style so all students are able to see the chalkboards.

Ancient Runes---Taught by Professor Babbling. Located in the basement this class was put here because there's an ancient tree stump covered in runes buried under the castle. The class has comfortable chairs as the class involves lots of time and lots of thinking.

The Village
Fleurs de Poitiers---An establishment with a great Victorian elegance, but below the main floor it's decked out in amber glass, low lighting, shades of red everywhere and a bar for exotic entertaining and the second floor and above has rooms for well...paying for it. Stocked with 3 dancers and 6 prostitutes

Local Fish Market---Stocked with fresh catch from the warm sea and the further north cold Atlantic, both magical and muggle. The warehouse like building opens literally before the crack of dawn and closes down around noon. Be warned though you can touch the merchandise, some of it is still very much alive and have been known to take off a finger or two.

United Men of Izaak---A pub and official meeting place for the local fisherman who belong to this organization, it's usually closed just to non-members accept on Sundays but with the new influx of students they've decided to have their doors open on Saturday as well from 10-3PM. The only rooms open to the public are two rooms connecting to the also open pub decked out, well like a deck in dark wood, thick glassed windows and lots and lots of nautical attire.

Caterpillar's Den---A popular hang out. The gypsy attired room draped in Indian fabric, low seats, pillows everywhere, star lanterns casting flickering muted shadows while patrons smoke on hookhas and in the back rooms for the clientele with thicker wallets and in need for a stronger taste dive into the world of opium served by two lovely Chinese girls and their elder father who blends the mix.

Bricka Brack's---A store filled with everything. Things you'd need, things you'd never know why anyone would want. The stores run by two slightly off brothers, happy to help and talk your ear off as if they've known you for years. The new, the old, the used, the barely usable all there in the most weirdly, unorganized organization. Don't forget the sales! Which are, of course everyday.

Night, Noon and Evening Owls---The local owlery filled with whatever type of foul you need to do your work. Small pigeons for in village letters, hawks to go into dangerous territory, owls for the night delivery. Be warned the circular structure has upped it's prices, so students are advised to use the school's owls. Like the title insinuates there are no morning deliveries!

Hengest&Horsa---An old school apothecary known to still sell potions from Merlin's time, came to fame with it's signature horse hoofs powder for increasing sexual stamina. The shop is clean, too clean to a point with everything in pristine ceramic, white jars or glass columns. A single long wooden table is at the back of the front room with a hanging 100-year old stuffed alligator swinging from above.

Aegir Docks---The majority of larger ships are anchored out in the harbor with the small vessels at the docks. Some even house boats sit calmly against the ancient docks. The creaky old planks hold steady and firm, some even say it was made by the merfolk themselves, but that's just silliness. On busy days and weekends you can find fresh, hot, fried, fish for sale, little sea charms made by fisher wives a dime a dozen and some old toothless fart wanting to sing to you horrible sea shanties.

Pluckin Onions---It's Scottish all the way baby, traditional fare and local flair collide here in the small but rowdy restaurants where not only do you get a discount if you're Scottish but are seated by clan affiliation! The staff is entirely male and serves each customer in kilt and commando at that!

Tattoo Parlor---Ready to get inked? Well here they can serve it magical or not. Tribal? Mer speak? A full sleeve? Something petite and on the lower back? Well Merv will ink you right up, while his lady Peony can tear right through your cartilage giving you a nice old nose ring. The place is classic and clean, two chairs, walls filled with pictures and drawings of done work, the only place left is the ceiling just waiting for your red flesh to be plastered up there!

"Salt Pillar" Light House---A small lighthouse at then end of the curved strip of land sheltering the bay guides the boats back up at night or on foggy mornings. Strange thing is this little white building has not one controlling or working the light. So if sneaky students want some alone time, this might just be it.

Amarillo's Armoire---Named after the flamboyant American vampire, this boutique specializes in having racks and racks of cloths no one else has. Muggle, magical, robes, lingerie, decadent, simple. It's here, even if you have to go through the miles of racks to find it.

Mitsy's Minis and More!---This quaint pink shop of a Granny's that never grew up specializes in everything dolls! Foreign dolls, wooden dolls, antique dolls and moving dolls! Come in around any tea time for treats with Aya, Marina, Tabitha and Lily, but don't expect them to talk or eat. Hey that's more for you though!

Elfin Cobblers---Yes in this mini shop with a three foot door has actually little people fixing and making your shoes! They may ask for more than just gold depending on what type of shoes you ask for. Be warned ladies they like panty shots!

Pizza Pizza---A restaurant specializing in you guessed it, pizza! This muggle couple who couldn't give up on the idea of magic were sent here in the early nineties and with some inspiration from "Mysitc Pizza" opened there own small town pizza parlor. Try the deep sea special, it's fishy.

Major Marks

Magical Marine Exploratory and Research Society{M.M.E.R.S.}---Located on the northern end of the island, a large square light house is their base, with a several small attached buildings for housing, storing and research. MMERS is a ministry sanctioned but also privately funded department that researches the deeps of the sea, and any body of water for that matter. The not only keep constant taps on the live leaving below the surface but are diplomats to the water civilizations, as representatives of the Magical British Community. The mid way base between the North Atlantic Base and North Sea Base this center staff 35 members.

Plumbaginaceae Field---Located beside the village this field of small little pink flowers known as "Sea Pink" is not only a beautiful site but as small perfectly smooth half round stones. A mystery yes!

Cutting Cliffs--- Where MMERS is located sharp hiking cliffs take any impact that should enter the bay.

Rolling Hills and Lake Gwragedd---Between the school and the cliffs soft hills with the deep lake nestled between them leave a peaceful site on any hikers mind, though rarely stated at past night fall.

The Forests--- A good 45% of the island is covered in young looking tress that are actually much older than they appear. The forest isn't dangerous but much is unexplored, as accounts have it constantly changing.

The Beach---Below the field and connecting to the village this fun spot when it's warm is much more accommodating then the Loch at Hogwart's.

Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade---North Scotland, population 200, a small walled village of 4.25 square miles, bumping up next to Hogwarts.

The Station---The students enter and leave Hogwarts through this transportation center every year. As first years they are taken down a small road to the lake before enter the school through docks. The older students take a road that angles north around the lake up to Hogwarts. The same road leads south into the small wall, full wizarding community of Hogsmeade.

Madame Puddifoots---known for the sappiest of dates and enabler of the precious second base this establishment will surely be in Hogsmeade for years to come. Pink, ruffles, golden cherubs, rose confetti and a full on high noon tea set up is a must for anyone looking for a girly day or kissing that girl you’ve had your eye on..or guy!

Hog's Head---owned and operated by Aberforth Dumbldore is an incrediably shabby and untidy pub and tavern. It’s most advised not to stay there unless you are low on gold. The guest rooms behind the bar seem only suitable for livestock and the food is bland Britsh fair.

Snuffs---a tobacco shoppe and supplier of the male wizard’s fleshy tastes, shows just how low class this area is.

Tartan Bistrot---is the cream of the crop. Only the highest paying customers eat here, dining in a wonderful candle lit tartan dining room with curtians of french lace and suculent meals of a French and Scottish twist. Every thing is fresh, even the herbs they use from their own garden go into the meals. A standard of the rich and well suited for those looking for a special anniversary evening.

Honeydukes---ever fresh and fun they aim to please all no matter the age. Shelves just dripping with sweets, a bar ready to serve up any kind of soda, ice cream floats too! A hand bell comes to life for fresh samples of fudge and the air has a constant aroma of chocolate just waiting to be eaten.

The Pale White Horse---This bed and breakfast has no dining room but a very small wine cellar where discreet clients come and eat during their stay at the small inn with the not so extraordinary exterior and rich, luxurious interior.

The Three Broomsticks---Well known inn and tavern caters to everyone from Ministry workers to Hogwart’s students. The friendly atmosphere engergized by the owner Madam Rosmerta helps the greasy food loved by the teenagers and the plain wooden tables with little mason jars full of fresh flowers no matter what the season give a much different feel than how it would look without all the love.

Muggletastic---a wonderful little store catering to the Muggle-born population is currrently closed and boarded but at one time supplied the students with the latest candy, magazine, of course a few kitschy items and could even order things if needed. The owners are said to be missing.

Zonko's& Religino's Fantasmigastic Marionette Parlor---a funky little shop of a jokster’s dreams has now been closed for almost two years, it’s uncertain when, if ever they will reopen, but next door Religino’s does carry a very items in their concession area that they will be glad to sell you especially if you go and see their half **priced show on Saturdays!**

Twilight Tomes--with it’s red door is a bright entry into the must cramped book store you will every enter, but if you love the smell of mold and the occasional muggle book students trade in for gold then this is your spot!

Dervis&Banges---Plain and modest just like the services they provide both shops keep the oddest hours but are always open on Saturday’s except for at tea time.

Glasdrag's---may look a bit worn from the outside, but that’s the Scottish weather for you! You can buy some of the most stylish wizarding cloths here. Getting your shoes fixed or have a skirt that’s just far to long? They’ll fix it for you.

Government Offices---Small offices set in this cream building allows Aurors and Ministry workers a place to meet and function outside of London.

Gran Nan’s---The place where every Hogmeade citizen gets their groceries and sometimes even the teachers at Hogwarts! The small thatched roof establishment has tables in the open for a quick lunch with some of the fresh farm items you just bought!

Post---The post is almost only used by the people of Hogsmeade, has small owls for light letters in town and large heavy clawed owls to deliver the large packages to loved ones off afar.

Houses off Melbin and Brownie---Near town but not in the thick of it these single family homes have small yards but still wonderful for flower garden!

Rowhouses and apartments off Highstreet---A less desirable area to live in but by no means does it has high crime levels, just close living.

Homes and cottages near the Wall---Farm houses growing local vegetables and raising livestock are scattered further away from the main square and closer to the walls.
